FOLK singers and dance groups from across Perth will descend on Wanneroo Showground when the WA Folk Federation holds the Urban Folk Day on May 28.
Duo The Littlest Fox, six-piece Celtic ensemble Twisted Herring and singer-songwriter David Mercy lead a line-up of 15 musicians, along with dance groups the Perth Morris Men, Mad Tatters Morris and The Fair Maids of Perth.
There will be children’s entertainment including the Eco Faeries, balloon magic and a bouncy castle, as well as squeezebox, song writing and Irish fiddle workshops.
An evening concert from 8pm will feature one of WA’s best Celtic rock bands, Fling.
Federation secretary Al Reibau_OK said it would be a fantastic event.
“The Urban Folk Day will be a great place for young people in Wanneroo to meet folk artists and become enthusiastic about creating music themselves,” he said.
There is free entry 10am to 6.45pm and $20 for adults and $15 concession and federation members for the evening concert.
