State Opposition leader Mark McGowan, Wanneroo candidate Sabine Winton and Federal candidate for Cowan Anne Aly visited Cartridge World in Wanneroo to highlight local opportunities as part of the Plan for Jobs.

The plan aims to create 20,000 jobs in the northern suburbs by establishing the Industrial Lands Authority to manage Meridian Park industrial estate in Neerabup.

Mrs Winton said the focus was on creating local jobs.

“It’s all about diversifying the economy and giving small business a fair go,” she said. “For too long, people in the northern suburbs have had no choice but to drive to the city or elsewhere for work.”

Dr Aly said the plan would benefit Cowan residents affected by the mining downturn.
