Wangara chase: man allegedly rode at 160km/h

A MAN is due to face Joondalup Magistrates Court on Monday accused of riding a high-powered motorbike up to 160km/h during a police pursuit in Wangara.

Officers attempted to stop the 26-year-old Marangaroo man about 9.30pm on March 7.

He allegedly failed to stop before leading police on a chase along Hepburn Avenue in Darch.

Officers called for assistance from police air wing, which tracked the alleged offender through several suburbs.

Police detained the suspect on foot in Melaleuca.

They discovered there was a warrant out for the man’s arrest.

He was charged with reckless driving, driving without a licence, failing to stop and bearing false number plates.
