UPGRADES to facilities at Wanneroo Aquamotion are now complete, three weeks ahead of schedule.

The change rooms and universally-accessible toilet got a revamp and a new parents’ room was added as part of the $580,000 renovation.

Along with the upgrades, the heated program pool has been reopened following tile repairs and replacement, in time for winter.

Mayor Tracey Roberts said Wanneroo was committed to providing facilities that enabled residents to access opportunities such as recreation and aquatic activities, swimming lessons and a heated program pool that contributed to healthy, safe and active lifestyles.

“Aquamotion member surveys and community consultation highlighted that upgrading the facility’s changing rooms was a top priority,” she said.

“In particular, customer feedback highlighted the need for a parents’ room to accommodate all family members who access the various pools at Aquamotion.

“Council approved the project as part of the Capital Works Program in June 2017.”

As part of the upgrades, new sky lights were installed and entry areas were improved, with increased air ventilation, and enhanced seating and storage spaces.
