Wanneroo: bank manager allegedy steals 33k from clients

A WANNEROO bank manager is alleged to have stolen nearly $33,000 from clients during a six-month period from 2017-18.

Police charged the 34-year-old woman on August 17 with eight counts of stealing as a servant.

Investigators allege the manager targeted dormant accounts.

She is accused of withdrawing money from them and then covering her tracks by closing the accounts and sending closure letters to fake addresses.

She allegedly shared the money with family members.

Police have accused her of stealing $32,789 across transactions from a variety of customers’ accounts.

On one occasion she allegedly took about $14,200 from an account.

She is due to face Joondalup Magistrates Court on September 10.
