Wanneroo burglary suspect in custody

A MAN who allegedly committed a string of burglaries on local homes, including two where he accosted female residents, has been remanded in custody.

The 32-year-old Padbury man faced Joondalup Magistrates Court on January 28 and is due to reappear on February 24.

He is accused of six burglaries, six thefts, four car thefts and multiple traffic charges between January 3 and 27.

On January 27, he allegedly entered the Wanneroo home of a 60-year-old woman and stole jewellery and cash from her.The same day, he allegedly entered the home of a 64-year-old woman, pushed her and stole her car keys.

Police allege the man drove up to 120km/h as they pursued him on Wanneroo Road in the stolen vehicle.

The alleged offender was detained in Marangaroo about 7.20pm that night.

He is charged with over 15 offences.
