CLASSIC cars and motorbikes feature in a family-friendly festival in Wanneroo this weekend.
The Wanneroo Car and Bike Festival 4 Kids will run at Lake Joondalup Park on September 25, offering an array of displays, markets, food stalls, live music, competitions and children’s entertainment.
Wanneroo resident Toni Brown is organising the festival for the second time, after raising more than $30,000 for the 1st Wanneroo Scout Group last year.
Money raised from the upcoming event will be donated to anti-bullying organisation Kidzucate, started by Burns Beach nine-year-old Sian Williams and her mother Azelene in 2014.
Ms Brown said she chose Kidzucate because she “absolutely adored” and believed in Sian.
“Bullying is a major problem that needs to be dealt with,” she said.
“Sian goes into schools to teach other kids how to stand up for themselves and other kids too.”
She said the free event would be great day out for families, with proceeds going to a worthy cause.
“(It’s) a family friendly, affordable day out with lots to see or do,” she said.
“We are aiming for $20,000 to $30,000 but as with everything we will be happy with what we actually raise as this comes from people’s generosity.”
