Wanneroo Central to undergo $20m revamp including new Aldi

WANNEROO shopping centre is set to undergo a $20 million revamp, headlined by the addition of Aldi.

Charter Hall today announced its development application had been approved for the redevelopment of Wanneroo Central.

Retail development head Yvette Keatings said the approval would provide an opportunity to enhance the centre’s offering, with completion scheduled for mid-next year.

“We are now taking the opportunity to refresh and expand the centre, which will include a new full line Aldi supermarket, casual dining precinct and additional specialty retail space,” she said.

“We will also be undertaking general centre upgrade works including a new in-centre playground and additional car parking.”

The news comes after the centre’s IGA supermarket announced its closure following 10 years in operation, with doors to shut in early July.
