TWO community musical groups will come together for an inaugural joint concert this weekend.

This year, the Wanneroo Civic Choir will hold its annual concert with the Churchlands Community Orchestra, putting instruments to voices.

The performance will feature the medley Fantasia on British Sea Songs as well as music from composers ranging from Verdi, Mozart and Elgar to Paul Simon, John Denver, Peter Allen and Lee Kernaghan.

The Alexander Heights-based choir, which formed in 1982, will be conducted by musical director Kent Logie who has led the group for the past 22 years, while Sheila Barlow will lead the orchestra as she has done for the past 10 years.

The concert will be held at the Karrinyup Community Hall from 3pm on November 11.

Tickets are available at the door and cost is $10 for adults and $5 for school-aged children, including afternoon tea.
