A PETITION for play equipment at Carona Park in Madeley could bring forward its installation with support from Wanneroo Council .
The City received a 23-signature petition for a swing set and bench at its December 11 meeting, and staff assessed it through its new playground installation program, scoring 17 points alongside 19 other parks.
“The score indicated that Carona Park will be considered for development in 2023-24,” the council report said.

However, councillor Domenic Zappa successfully moved an amendment at the February 5 meeting to list it for consideration in the 2019-20 budget rather than waiting until 2023-24.
The swing set and two benches are expected to cost about $10,000, with an extra $20,000 needed if sand soft-fall and edging are also required.
