Wanneroo gets lion’s share

$4.8 million was carried forward for the construction a newly aligned single carriageway from Ocean Reef Road to north of Kemp Street, including street lighting, as was a $1.3 million State Government grant, and $40,000 was added for the street landscape design.

$1.5 million was also carried forward for the design and site preparation of the next stage of construction from Kemp Street to High Road.

Dundebar Road had $78,000 carried forward for median and verge planting and $5000 for upgrades from Wanneroo Road to Civic Drive. Scenic Drive had $75,500 carried forward for two chicanes, a median and landscaping between Neville Drive and Church Street and an additional $80,000 for chicanes and street lighting upgrades.

Other roads listed for funding were San Rosa Road with $48,000 carried forward, for two chicanes and upgrades to the junction at Nyunda Drive, and Belgrade Road, with $145,000 for upgrades from Scott Road to Steven Street.

A $188,000 State Government loan was also carried forward for upgrades to Rocca Way and Dundebar Road, as was a $900,000 grant for the Wanneroo Road streetscape in the town centre and $112,000 for the South Wanneroo Traffic Management Scheme works.

$30,000 was carried forward to construct the Wanneroo Cultural and Learning Centre, $67,000 to construct a storage room at Margaret Cockman Pavilion and $20,000 for the staged development of a heritage trail in the grounds of Cockman House and $1000 to construct a shed and shelter.

$141,000 was also listed for upgrades at Wanneroo Aquamotion.

Sheffield Park was one of two parks listed $85,000 for the installation of new playground equipment, while $41,500 was carried forward for upgrades at Barndie Park.
