RESIDENTS from Wanneroo and surrounding areas can take part in free tai chi lessons after the council approved a waiver of fees for the use of the Hudson Park Pavilion.
The Vietnamese Cultural Association tai chi classes started in January after martial arts expert and resident Nghia Truong found pain relief from practising the art.
Cr Hugh Nguyen, who moved a motion at last month’s council meeting to waive the fees, said residents were asked to pay $2 a month towards the cost of hiring the pavilion.
‘A one-hour class can cost anywhere between $15 to $25 so I am very pleased to be able to help make available to all of our residents in the City of Wanneroo tai chi classes at no costs,’ he said.
