Wanneroo hosts Royal Western Australian Historical Society’s annual state conference

HISTORY buffs from around WA converged in Wanneroo for a State conference last month.

More than 120 delegates from 31 organisations attended the Royal Western Australian Historical Society’s annual event at Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre.

The two-day conference was hosted by the Wanneroo and Districts Historical Society and City of Wanneroo.

Guest speakers highlighted Wanneroo’s colourful history, including Dan Susac who talked about his family’s lime production business, Paul Conti shared stories regarding his family’s vineyards and Bill and Bernice Marwick, who spoke about establishing the Wanneroo Times.

Attendees also toured historical sites including the Trandos farm, Cockman House, Wanneroo Showground and Barbagallo Raceway.
