A MAN is alleged to have held another man captive at a Wanneroo property and bashed him before allowing him to go home and wash the blood off himself on the condition he came back later.
He then allegedly threatened to kill him if he tried to escape.
Police charged the 39-year-old with a string of offences on August 27.
Sergeant Phil Huggins said the man was accused of forcing the victim to sign a statutory declaration to take the wrap for his girlfriend’s drug debt.
He allegedly kidnapped him after he did not show up to hand the form to police and took him to a Wanneroo home where he tied his arms and legs.
The man is accused of assaulting the victim with various weapons.
Sgt Huggins said the victim went home to shower before returning to the residence at the alleged offender’s command, but he escaped in the early hours of the morning.
Police charged the man with making threats to gain benefit, attempting to pervert the course of justice, acts or omissions causing bodily harm, deprivation of liberty and possessing an unlicensed firearm.
He is due in Joondalup Magistrates Court on September 12.
