MORE than a thousand people checked out the freshly renovated Wanneroo Police Station as officers gave an insight into local policing earlier this month.
Of big interest was the Tactical Response Group rescue vehicle and riot equipment.
Officers opened the doors to the station lock-up, while visitors had their fingerprints and mock mug shots taken.
Senior Sergeant Simon Hazell said the day was a “huge success”.
“It’s given us the opportunity to break down some barriers, engage with the community and share our newly renovated station,” he said.
Motorists had free antitheft screws fitted to their vehicles’ number plates during the October 7 event.
