WANNEROO Primary School sparkles extension teacher Liza Edwards is bringing 20 Year 5 and 6 students to the Wanneroo Show to show their robotic creations in the Community Marquee.

Ms Edwards runs the school’s popular Robotics Program for pre-primary to Year 6 students, and she couldn’t be happier with the way the youngsters tackle the program’s challenges.

“I use robotics in the classroom to get the children thinking about how things work,” she said.

“They learn coding skills and can see how science, technology, engineering and maths can be used to make them creators of technology, and not just consumers.

“On Fridays between 8am and 8.30am, any child can come into the classroom and learn about the robotics program. Usually, about 20 students a term turn up before school, often before 8am.”

The students will be at the show on November 24 from 4pm to 6pm and on November 25 from 10am to noon,
