WANNEROO residents love to shop online, according to a new Australia Post study.

The 6065 postcode, which includes Ashby, Darch, Madeley, Landsdale, Kingsway, Hocking, Pearsall, Sinagra, Tapping, Wangara and Wanneroo, was named second in WA’s top five buying locations, behind Mandurah and ahead of Success, Canning Vale and Hamilton Hill.

It was also ranked number one in WA for online fashion purchases, and 21st nationally.

Carramar had the highest growth in sales of health and beauty products, up 69.8 per cent on 2014.

The study stated this was because the suburb has a median age of 28 and “young people are more likely to shop online, particularly for health and beauty products”. Pinjarra, Onslow and Bentley followed.

Yanchep was named in the top four fastest-growing locations in WA for online fashion purchases, up 26.9 per cent on 2014. It trailed Onslow, Dongara and Kojonup.

In 2015, people Australia-wide spent $14.3 billion on physical goods and $4.8 billion on digital services.
