A GROUP of performing arts students are staging a play in Wanneroo this weekend.

Wanneroo Secondary College Year 12 students Harrison Claire, Asha and Lili Osbaldiston and Nicholas Parsonage will perform in former Broadway musical [title of show] at Limelight Theatre.

Harrison said the quartet wanted to stage a production and approached teachers Matt Bell and John McPherson, who have taken on the roles of director and musical director.

“We wanted to show off our talent and push ourselves,” he said.

They have had six weeks to rehearse, finding time at recess and lunch breaks, after school and on weekends.

“The energy during rehearsals has just been great,” Harrison said.

“It’s just really funny to create these characters and then hilarious scenarios we known people are going to love.

“It’s honestly such an amazing experience.”

He said they had found a love for theatre and were feeling positive.

“There’s always going to be a bit of nerves but we are definitely on track,” he said.

Performances are on March 10 and 11 at 7pm. Tickets cost $10 and are available at the college reception or on 9206 6555.
