IT took American competitive eater Randy Santel just two minutes and five seconds to finish the Megadog – a 61cm, 1.5kg hotdog.
The local record currently sits with Tom Kaczor, who finished it in two minutes and 11 seconds.
Now, Top Dog In Town is looking for a new local champion.

READ NOWThe Wanneroo Markets eatery and Perth Eating Challenges are hosting their third Megadog Challenge on April 8 from 11am to 2pm.
Owners Dean and Daisy Letard said they hoped to have 200 entrants.
“I think last time we had about 160 or 170 so not too bad considering Perth isn’t really known for its eating challenges,” Mr Letard said.
Entrants can choose from three flavours: the German Shepherd with pork bratwurst sausage, sauerkraut, red cabbage, traditional German mustard and fresh herbs, the Nacho Dog with beef Chevup, Mexican salsa, guacamole, sour cream, nacho cheese and corn chips and the Chilli Dog with Vienna sausage, chilli con carne sauce, onions, jalapenos, nacho cheese, hot sauce and coriander.
The winner will receive $1000 and the right to re-name the Megadog, which is currently The Polish Piranha thanks to Mr Kaczor.
Before that, it was Moss Boss Dog, with the winner finishing in nine minutes and 12 seconds.
That record was set in 2016 when the bun used was a crusty baguette rather than the now-used “freshly toasted par-baked roll”.
Entry fee is $29.95.
There will also be $8 pints and $6 wines all day.
Bookings are essential by emailing admin@topdogintown.com or calling 0431 365 638 with the number of challengers, Megadog flavours and preferred time.
