The North West Metropolitan District crime team reported on its Facebook page that between the hours of 5pm on Monday and 2am on Tuesday, ‘unknown person/s of interest had drawn graffiti on the steps’ of the war memorial.
City of Joondalup chief executive Garry Hunt said the incident was reported to the City on Tuesday morning and the graffiti was removed the same day.
The City is helping the police with its investigations.
‘The City is also in the process of installing community safety-related infrastructure at Central Park, including CCTV and a range of lighting enhancements to deter anti-social behaviour,’ Mr Hunt said.
