Weather change leads to power pole fire in Woodvale

Justin BianchiniWanneroo Times

LIGHT drizzle combined with dust build-up on power pole insulators to cause several pole fires and power blackouts this morning.

This pole in Duffy Terrace, Woodvale, caught on fire about 7am and with the strong westerly winds was still burning at 11am.

Glowing embers were blown into Yellagonga Regional Park, igniting the grass.
