The service disruption, from 7pm Friday until 5.30pm Monday, is to facilitate works on the Butler Extension Project.
‘These works are absolutely essential as we inch closer to connecting Butler station to the network later this year,’ Transperth spokesman David Hynes said.
A replacement bus will operate between Clarkson and Joondalup stations during the disruption, which includes Future Music Festival and Soundwave Festival being held at Arena Joondalup on Sunday and Monday.
‘We expect the disruption to have a very minimal effect, as it only affects the two most northern stations Currambine and Clarkson, and most music fans will be coming from other parts of the network,’ Mr Hynes said.
Free public transport is included with both festival tickets and shuttle buses will run between Arena Joondalup and Joondalup train station.
Although the City of Joondalup recommends concert-goers catch public transport to and from the event, free parking is available in the city centre on Sundays and public holidays.
