West Greenwood Primary students raise $605 bounty to fight cancer on Pirate Day Friday

PIRATES took over a Greenwood school last week, collecting a bounty of more than $600 for cancer research.

Students and teachers at West Greenwood Primary School donned eye patches and bandannas as part of Pirate Day Friday.

They donated their ‘treasure’, raising $605 to help the Telethon Adventurers and The Kids’ Cancer Project fight childhood brain cancer.

Now in its second year, the day was inspired by Joondalup nine-year-old Conor Colgan, who was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour in 2014.
