Windfall for school playgrounds

Beldon Education Support Centre and Hillarys, Kambalda, Somerly and Merriwa primary schools are among the 56 to receive $20,000 to rejuvenate their outdoor play areas.

Education Minister Peter Collier said $6 million would be spent over four years improving school playgrounds.

‘The new equipment will allow students to thrive both inside and outside the classroom and encourage them to develop positive attitudes to physical fitness and health,’ he said.
