Windfall for sport and community club

The park on Penistone Street is home to the Warwick-Greenwood cricket and football clubs, as well as other groups. The council requested community consultation be carried out to determine the needs of user groups and to develop a master plan for the site.

The City has included $2 million in the five-year capital works program for the 2015-16 financial year. Cr John Chester told the meeting the clubrooms at the park were built in 1975 and it was due for an upgrade.

‘The budget of $2 million is nothing to be sneezed at; this is a major commitment,’ he said.
