Woman charged after allegedly hitting people with her car in Padbury

POLICE have charged a 27-year-old woman after an incident in which she allegedly ran down a group of people and crashed her car into a fence in Padbury.

Police claim a woman was talking to the occupants of a house in MacDonald Avenue just before 10pm last night.

A verbal altercation began and the occupants of the house started throwing things at the woman’s car, a Mitsubishi Magna sedan.

The woman drove away from the house, but returned a few minutes later and allegedly drove at the occupants of the house who were standing in the driveway and front yard.

A 23-year-old woman was injured, sustaining a broken ankle, cuts and abrasions.

The driver then allegedly drove at a fence on the property, causing significant damage to the vehicle.

The driver, a South Hedland woman, was taken to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

She was charged with driving with a blood alcohol limit in excess of 0.08 and an act or omission causing bodily harm.

She will appear in Perth Magistrates Court today.
