WORK on the $20 million redevelopment of Wanneroo Central shopping centre will start on Monday.

Charter Hall Retail last month appointed Pindan as the builder for the project, which will include a dining and town square precinct plus an Aldi supermarket.

“Our focus is on providing our shoppers with convenience based shopping options and we believe the new Aldi will be a great addition to the centre and the community,” head of retail development Yvette Keatings said.

“The development works also provide an exciting opportunity to create a casual dining and town square precinct at the front of the centre.

“This is a space for the community to come together, dine and connect.”

A spokeswoman said although Windan Way would close there would still be access to the underground and main car parks via Dundebar Road, Civic Drive and Wanneroo Road.

The general centre upgrades, scheduled for completion in mid-2018, will include an in-centre playground, amenities and extra carparking.
