Workers push for more pay

Child protection, disability services, Tafe, transport, housing and Attorney General staff rallied in front of the Department for Child Protection and Family Services office in Joondalup.

Civil Service Association members last week voted to reject a pay offer of 2.5 per cent per year for the next three years.

Commerce Minister Michael Mischin said WA public servants were among the highest paid in Australia compared to their peers in other jurisdictions and a salary increase of 1 per cent would add $100 million in recurrent expenditure to the State Government budget.
