Principal Paul Rafter said the centre’s playgroup would provide a working environment for years 11 and 12 students who wanted to pursue careers in teaching, youth work, childcare and disability services.

‘It is a joy to witness our senior students working with very young children to acquire the skills, competencies, tolerance and initiative to become nurturing carers,’ he said.

It would also provide opportunities into nursing or other fields involving contact with children.
