Young pianist full of promise

The nine-year-old local was presented with the Arts in Focus most promising performing artist award at the September 6 concert, taking home a cash prize of $1500.

Starting piano lessons at five years of age and practising on a daily basis, young Bryzlyn said she was thrilled with the news that her hard work had paid off.

‘I cant believe I won,’ Bryzlyn said.

‘I am very honoured to win such a prestigious award and feel excited and happy each time I get on stage to perform.’

Proud parent Bel Sin said Bryzlyn took inspiration from composers Prokofiev, Grieg and Mozart.

‘She loves playing piano because music has many characters in different periods that allow her to role play and express herself,’ Mrs Sin said.

‘The winners concert was a real eye opener for her as she has never seen such spectacular performances with various instruments.

‘Bryzlyn is counting down to perform again at the Eisteddfod showcase on the Joondalup Festival Outdoor stage in March.’
