The 11-year-old Kallaroo resident has won medals every year at Carmel School’s athletics and swimming carnivals.
But his greatest passion is soccer, which he hopes to continue to a professional level.
‘When I was six, I watched an FA Cup final and I really liked the game so I started to kick the ball around,’ he said.
He was selected for an advanced junior soccer training program with Football West and for the past three years has played for Perth Glory’s junior club.
‘It’s really good. They are really good players that we play against, which helps you improve a lot and it’s good coaching,’ he said.
This season, Sorrento Football Club also selected Jacob to play in the National Premier League for under-12s.
‘It’s been really good. We’ve played a couple of matches and recently won one 17-1 and I scored a hat-trick,’ he said.
Jacob is an HBF Junior Sports Hero nominee.
