Site supervisor Mary O’Byrne said Moore-Cowan environmental activists Zander (3), Haarlem (3) and Ashton Terwal (5), and Alex (6) and Joe Lawson (10) (pictured) braved the heat to fill three bags of rubbish together.

The clean-up crew also looked after Bruce, the rescued greyhound.

Zander said finding a cricket bat was a highlight of the day and Ashton said he was keen to give it another shot next year.
