Flying escapee

IT was a lovely photo of a Red-capped parrot and an Eastern (not Western) Rosella in the September 23 edition.

The rosella is probably an aviary escapee. Such birds are usually soon taken by a predator (Nature is not a kindly mother).

If it does survive, there is a small chance that it could pair-up with another escapee of its own species and then there is a risk of yet another introduced bird species in our midst.
