Jobs on paper

VERY soon after the Liberals were elected, the unemployment rate was 6.4 per cent but the Government created (on paper) 380,000 part-time jobs and deducted it from the unemployment.

These people were never unemployed. They are schoolchildren in Years 9-12, university and Tafe students and they all try to get a part-time job. For months afterwards thousands of more part-time jobs were created and deducted.

By my calculation, the unemployment is now at 7 per cent.
