Parking woes

However, after I heard on the radio that that the Mitchell Freeway (south) was a car park – again – my daughter and I decided to catch the train.

We arrived at Currambine train station at 8am, which has recently had an extra 200 – 250 parking bays added and every one taken.

It would seem that if you want to catch a train into the CBD, you have to be there before 7am.

We all know that the roads are getting busier and busier and the Government is forever trying to encourage us to use public transport.

Recently, I was in a dilemma where I had to attend two doctors at QEII. Again, the car parks at Currambine, Edgewater and Joondalup stations were all full.

As I was now running late after trying to find a car park, I parked at Lakeside shopping centre (car park next to the train station) as I expected to be back within the allowed four hours and then do some shopping at Lakeside.

However, due to circumstances beyond my control, I could not get back to my car within that time. I arrived two minutes after a Joondalup parking officer issued a $60 ticket.

The reasonable circumstances that I gave for being a few minutes late back to my car were in vain; it was either pay up or take it to court.
