Rates ridiculously high for wrong reasons

Rates ridiculously high for wrong reasons

I COULD not agree more with John Blakey’s letter headlined “Time to retreat” and Vincent Cusack’s headlined “Time for ‘yes’” as our rates are ridiculously high for the wrong reasons.

It would appear our council has little regard or respect for the rate-paying masses, as it does not subscribe to conducting surveys or feasibility studies, and constantly embarks on lost cause ventures without consulting those affected by these opulent ventures.

Skewed priorities rule the day and we are definitely not getting our money’s worth.

Adding to insult, much of the time many of these projects end up under-used. If white elephants were animals, we would be living in a zoo.

In the end, we are paying more for rates and services, and getting less.

Sorry cities of Joondalup and Wanneroo, but your domain is overrated, overstated and overpriced.

JOHN C. CUSSONS, Hillarys.
