To be effective, a monumental “statement” must be instantly recognised and understood for what it means to portray.

One would be short of a couple of sheep in the top paddock to suggest that one should rush home to the computer or down to the local library (if you know where it is) to understand the three “statements” in question.

The monuments Mr Hunt refers to look like someone pinched a couple of goal posts from the local oval, then vaguely remembered seeing a colourful Aboriginal painting somewhere so splashed some colour on them and voila – a “statement”.
