It was great to see, in this case, that none of the kids took up the driver’s offer of a lift.

Also pleasing was the fact some of the children used their phones to take photos of the man’s car.

We encourage anyone who witnesses suspicious behaviour to take photos and send them to us.

It’s integral for parents and school teachers to ensure kids are cautious when confronted by someone they don’t know.

If a child is approached by a suspect person, they should run to a safe house, to a trusted adult, or back to school if it’s nearby.

On Friday, we had officers visiting schools in the district to drive home the importance for children to be vigilant when they’re without an adult.
