A mountain of runs is the way to get noticed

The tall Wanneroo number three certainly let everyone know that he is around and was very noticeable when he plundered 169 runs for his team at Kingsway on Saturday.

Wanneroo set the visiting Subiaco Floreat team a mammoth 356 to chase next weekend when Christian Smith chipped in with a determined 58, John Rogers (41) and Joel Charles (34) in support of Fawcett.

Supporters have been impressed with Fawcett’s no-nonsense approach to his batting this season and also his much improved batting technique.

Second Grade set Subiaco Floreat a total of 254 at Floreat Oval and the home side are 0-14 in reply.

Aaron Brunner led the batting for Wanneroo with 56 while Nathan Henry contributed 53.

Fourth Grade is involved in an interesting affair after Mitch McPhee took 6-32 and Timothy Adrichem 2-20 to restrict Subiaco Floreat to 99 runs.

Next week Wanneroo will attempt to pass the score on a wicket which could be described as difficult.

The under 17 team lost 9 wickets in scoring 232 and the standouts were Nicholas Nylander who scored 60 for Wanneroo while Cristopher Moses continued his good form in scoring 43.
