WANGARA aikido students were chosen to demonstrate their skills in front of high-ranking international instructors recently.

West Coast Aikido Academy of WA principal Ross Taylor and students Sophie Tighe (16), Zane Huntley (14) and Michael Thomas (12) participated in the Aikido Friendship Bridge Seminar over the WA Day long weekend.

The three-day training seminar was attended by aikido teachers from the US, UK, Japan and Australia.

Mr Taylor said Sophie, Michael and Zane held junior black belts and had been training in the martial art for more than eight years.
