TWO young gymnasts will be watching the upcoming Olympics with hopes they may one day feature at the Games after they were named the best in the country for their age in synchronised trampolining.

High Flyers Wangara junior athletes Alannah Boseley (9) and Meg Langridge (10) took gold in the under-11 event at the Australian Gymnastics Championships in Melbourne earlier this year.

It was their first time travelling with the WA team.

They are now back in training for their next major event in September, which will give them the chance to qualify for next year’s national championships.

And while they will be able to watch the world’s best trampolinists compete for individual glory at the upcoming Rio Games, they will not be able to watch synchronised trampolining as it not yet an Olympic sport.

But with synchronised diving and swimming having both earned Olympic Games status, the girls can be confident they may one day see their pet event on the schedule of the world’s biggest sporting event.
