SINAGRA’S Chris Bosnakis capped off a successful motocross season by securing a back-to-back WA title in the Senior State Championships.
With the cancellation of the sixth round to be held on October 11, which was supposed to be the running of the postponed round three from June, the results of the September 20 fifth round at Coastal Park in Henderson served to determine this year’s state champions.
Bosnakis won the quad championship, which is only raced over three rounds, with a clean sweep of the three motos on the day, leaving Tyron Robertson to take second and Shaun Woodhead third.
However, it was not enough for Robertson to secure the position in the overall standings, with Woodhead the runner-up champion on 254 and Robertson third on 231 behind Bosnakis on 302.
The women’s championship was decided with only two rounds being raced.
Chelsea Blakers was the champion on 196 with Hannah Bagnall on 180 and Leeha Worthington on 161.
Dean Porter won the MX1 championship on 487 ahead of Robert Lovett on 432 and Mitch Taylor on 371, while Dylan Heard took out the MX2 championship on 441 from defending champion Jayden Rykers, who was absent from the final round of racing because of commitments in Europe, on 411 and Jack Taylor third on 402.
Brendon Parnham won the veterans division on 422 points from Trevor Unstead on 398 and Scott Petricevich on 385, Mario Dercole won the intermediate lites on 456 ahead of Jacob Schaafsma on 412 and Kurt Baxter on 399 and Anthony Rubotham won the intermediate open by just two points from Brock Nelson on 433 and Stuart Eardley-Wilmot on 403.
In the clubman divisions, Alex Christie won the lites title on 495 followed by Jake McKay on 439 and Brayden Hahn on 371 and Callum Evans won the open on 485 ahead of Nathan Cox on 430 and Caleb Mills on 405._
