Busy season for brothers

Logan (11) has been selected in the State under-12 schoolboys football team after winning three gold medals and a silver at the state athletics championships.

And Kalin (14), who is fighting cancer, has been mixing it again with favourite AFL team Sydney, after his wish was granted to see them play at their home ground.

Kalin, who has a special link to the Swans since being diagnosed with the rare rhabdomyosarcoma, met Lance Franklin and had a kick on the SCG.

‘Kalin was also a successful athlete prior to his diagnosis in mid-2012, receiving a silver medal at the State athletics championships that year,’ Kalin’s father, Paul, said.

‘It was good to see him kick a footy on the SCG after a harrowing two years.’

Logan, in Year 6 at Wanneroo Primary School, will head to Sydney with the State football team on July 18.

The team is looking for sponsorship or donations.
