Wanneroo cricket team wins against the Bayswater-Morley team in the WACA First-Grade

WANNEROO completed its first two-day match of the WACA first grade season with a convincing victory over Bayswater-Morley at Kingsway on Saturday.

Having declared at 7-314, the Roos secured a 123-run first innings win, keeping the visitors to just 191 from 69.1 overs.

WACA development squad member Jack Cattrall was potent with the ball, taking 6-40 as Wanneroo’s best bowler.

The Bears’ Jake Lewis (50) scored a half century to be his side’s leading run scorer.

Opener Mitchell Todd struck 35.

Wanneroo returned to the crease for the final nine overs of the day with Rob Richards scoring a quick-fire 37 not out from 32 balls.

Kyle Millar was caught for 18 as the Roos added 57 runs to their season total.

Wanneroo remains third heading into its round six clash against 10th-placed Claremont-Nedlands.
