Competing in the opening round of the 2014 CAMS LF Performance Speed Event Series in the Engas 427 Nissan Chev, Clark set the second fastest time of the day collecting trophies for outright second place and first in closed cars.
‘Other than the usual spanner check, lubricant replacement and polish, the car was literally untouched from our successful 2013 campaign and after tweaking the suspension settings and tyre pressures we were right into it,’ Clark said.
‘Despite the extreme heat the car ran brilliantly all day and was ‘on the money’ from the first practise lap.
‘The late afternoon event concluded under lights, which was very exciting. However, we were unable to run because we had discarded the head lights on the way to achieving our 950kg chassis weight.’
