Professionals Matt Jager, of Melville Glades Golf Club, and New South Welshmen Mitchell Brown and Andrew Evans shared a four-under-par 65 as proceedings wrapped up last Wednesday.
The top seven was separated by just one shot, with Brendan Chant, Rance De Grussa, Kim Felton and Darren Tan sharing a fourth- place 66.
It was Brown’s second win from four tournaments as part of the PGA Pro-Am Series. He needed just 21 putts to secure the tied victory in Yanchep.
Each of the winners scored five or more birdies.
‘I’ve not hit the ball that great although managed to score well which is a good sign for the remaining WA swing,’ he said.
The Sun City Golf Club course had recently undergone a multi-million-dollar revamp, increasing the difficulty of holes 13, 14 and 15.
Club professional Sean McKay said the greens had never looked so good.
