Commodore Chris Grant highlighted the activities of the club’s angling, diving, power and sailing sections, noting the dinghy sailors could now enjoy their own Junior Clubhouse, moved into position only the day before.

The sail past theme was ‘beneath the Southern Cross’, and Sana 11 won best dressed boat with a creative flora, fauna and multicultural flavour.

Racing followed, and yachts in three divisions and dinghies set sail in fairly strong north-westerly winds, a fleet which included Comfortably Numb (back from the Bali Rally) and Knee Deep, which will leave shortly to contest this year’s Sydney to Hobart race. For those interested, a Discover Sailing Day on November 3 will provide an opportunity to go sailing between 9am and 1pm.
