Ellis has made more than 20 quilts and won several awards with his latest creation, which features at this year’s Perth Craft and Quilt Fair.
‘When I first got into quilting, I had no idea how few men were involved, nowadays I’m often the sole male exhibitor, or outnumbered by women quilters 700 to one,’ he said.
His entrance into this year’s fair took him two-and-a-half years to finish.
The completely hand”made quilt features 16 native flowers and their botanical names.
