Deckchairs Overboard proves fastest in race

Crews eagerly anticipated the weekend, with Fremantle Sailing Club providing berths at its collector jetty and access to the dining room for a buffet dinner.

Spinnakers were flown down for a good part of the race, with some tacking in a moderate easterly that turned to the south-east during the afternoon.

Fastest in division one was Deckchairs Overboard, skippered by Neil Harrison who recently competed in the China Cup in Hong Kong. However Hard Evidence took the handicap honours.

In division two, Fred Bicker in Juni recorded a first and fastest and likewise for Perle in JAM (jib and main only event).

In the return race, Deckchairs Overboard was fastest again but Dart Vader took first place on handicap and although Juni was fastest in division two, Pinta recorded a win, as did Perle in JAM.
