Falcons coach could answer AFL call

It’s a career step that could be on his radar in the next few years with the Subiaco life member, who joined the Falcons in 2009, set to become the longest-serving coach in the club’s 128-year history.

Monaghan said coaching a WAFL side had always been his ambition, but he’d be ‘very happy to sit down and talk’ should an AFL club come calling.

‘For someone with my experience, it’s more a development role in the AFL system that I’d likely be a chance of,’ he said.

‘But then you take away the actual match-day coaching, so it would be a dilemma for me’
